Sierra Mountain Tour
Travel on an ATV from the ocean and snake up the mountains past the four communities Playa Viva supports through the ReSiMar watershed regeneration program. You’ll be visiting a family that lives self-sustainably, 100% off grid in the mountains. See the land where they grow all the coffee and cacao we serve at the hotel, alongside everything they need to live in the remote location nestled in abundant nature. After the tour, join the family for a home-cooked lunch and learn more about their life up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Snorkeling Tour
Take a boat from the beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay to a remote coral reef with calm waters, a white sand beach and plentiful aquatic life. No snorkeling experience is necessary; your guide, Paco, will be in the water with you giving tips and pointing out the wonders below. Face masks, flippers and lifejackets will be provided, as well as water and ice. The boat is covered, so those sensitive to the sun will have plenty of shade.
After visiting the coral reef, the boat will tour the perimeter of Zihuatanejo Bay, where you’ll discover great views of La Ropa Beach and the city of Zihuatanejo. At your option, we can stop in town for lunch.

Archeological Site in Soledad de Maciel
Just 20-minutes away lives a buried indigenous culture that was only recently discovered. A new museum houses artifacts, ceramics, jewelry, and weaponry made from local resources.
You’ll be taken to the newly restored ball field as well as the current excavation sites.
It is believed that it is a ceremonial center occupied by the cultures of Tomiles, Cuitlatecos and Tepoztecas and that it was as important as Teotihuacán.
It is estimated that the site was occupied for more than 3000 years and had an exchange with several pre-Hispanic cultures. One of its most peculiar characteristics is that it was built using the planets and stars as a reference for its design, specifically the planet Venus, the Sun and the North Star.

ceremonial songs and flowers are made as the fire heats the
interior. Come ready to sweat and smile.
